Vintage movie poster, man with extra fingers with girls in his hand? from 60's early 70's maybe? I don't remember for the life of me, what the name of this movie was. But yeah, it's an illustration of a man who has extra fingers, and girls that are either in the palm of his hand, or wrapped around his finger. I can't come up with anything in google search, Any vintage movie buffs out there??? |
| you can probably find it here, they have EVERYTHING: tinyurl.com/ybjthzo I've seen posters as cheap as $8 and even less plus they're always having some sort of sale |
What is the value of my vintage movie poster from the 1950's, Lady Chatterly, starring Danielle Darrieux? crease mid poster but great photo of Daneille in horse riding outfit in front of a fire, original poster , strong coloration, no tears |
Your best bet is to take it to a memorabilia shop. However, as with all collectibles, the answer depends on what someone is willing to pay.
One note: up until probably the late 1980's, movie posters were shipped to theatres folded in envelopes. It wasn't until later the posters started coming rolled in cardboard tubes. For this reason, you would expect an authentic theatre poster (or one-sheet) to have creases. |
Where can I find vintage Hollywood movie posters? I am currently re-decorating my bedroom and I choose the vintage Hollywood theme because I love old movies. I am looking for vintage movie posters, so far I was only able to find three at the stores (Casablanca, Breakfast at Tiffany's and Mairlynn Monroe in that white dresss). Does anybody know of any good websites where I can find some Hollywood movie posters? I would also like to point out that I am on a budget : ) Also, does anyone have any tips for decor that would enhance my theme? |
As mentioned before, allposters.com has thousands upon thousands of movie posters (and posters of other types). You can pick up frames almost anywhere, but IKEA has nice beechwood frames that can be painted.
My suggestion as to decorating is to pick a style and choose both posters and accessories that suit that style. For example, if you like Art Deco, you could get posters from movies like Metropolis, Wings, and the 1931 Frankenstein. (Posters from more recent movies like Bonnie & Clyde and the Agatha Christie mysteries work well here too.) If you wanted to go 50s retro, you could get posters from movies like Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sunset Boulevard, and Ben-Hur.
For decorating, you could paint using historical paint colours for those eras. Sherwin Williams has a historical palette, as does Dulux in the UK. Paint is cheap, especially if you do it yourself, and can really make a big difference.
Once you choose a specific era, it'll also be easier to find furniture and accessories that match. 50s accessories show up a lot in garage sales in post-war neighbourhoods - many seniors who were 20 in the 50s are moving into seniors' residences and cleaning out their homes. |

Good vintage posters for movie theater room? We are making a movie room. What would be some good vintage/classic movie posters to put up? |
When you go to the movie theatre, they have these posters you can buy of the movies. I'd suggest getting those.
If what you're sking is to get ones like the big ones they use to advertise, i don't know where you can get those, but some good ones to get would be classics that everyone knows like "titanic", "king kong", and stuff like that.
By the way that room sounds pretty cool! I want to make a movie room!~!~!~!
Can you please help me?
